\"\"<\/a>According to an opposition website [www.kalameh.com] and as reported on 10 October 2011 by the\u00a0Associated Press<\/a>, Iranian actress Marzieh Vafamehr, wife of film director and screenwriter Nasser Taghvai, has been sentenced to one year in jail and 90 lashes\u00a0for Ray Ban outlet<\/a> appearing in a movie critical of the Islamic republic\u2019s hard-line policies.<\/p>\n

Vafamehr\u00a0was arrested the first week of July 2011 in Tehran and was held in detention until 25 July 2011 when she was released on bail.<\/p>\n

Produced in collaboration with Australia, Granaz Moussavi\u2019s film \u201cMy Tehran for Sale\u201d tells the story of a young actress living in Tehran whose theatre work is banned by the authorities. She is then forced to lead a secret life in order to express herself artistically.<\/p>\n

Vafamehr\u00a0appears in the film without a hijab.\u00a0The film has been harshly criticized in conservative circles.<\/p>\n

The Fars news agency has previously said the movie had not been approved http:\/\/www.raybani.com\/<\/a> for screening in Iran and was being distributed in the country illegally.<\/p>\n
